Beer in plastic bottles? Also using adhesive instead of shrink wrap to create multi-packs? That's right, this is the result of the cooperation between the world-renowned packaging and filling supplier KHS Group and the Belgian beer brand Martens Brewery!
Karlskrone Belgian Wheat Beer by Martens Brewery is sold in KHS six-pack Nature MultiPack™ filmless packs in redesigned 0.
Packaging module extended to existing PET line
Packaging module extended to existing PET lineMartens Brewery uses several KHS bottling machines for bottling and glass filling, and the collaboration is now also extending to PET bottling
Martens Brewery purchased an InnoPET Blomax stretch blow molding machine and an InnoPET Plasmax coating machine, which coats the inside of PET bottles with a thin film of pure chemical glass
The new multi-pack uses a few drops of adhesive to hold multiple bottles together without the need for a shrink-wrapped overwrap, and keeps individual beer bottles firmly connected and easily separated
Compared to shrink film packaging, the new packaging allows Martens Brewery to save up to 67 percent in the production process because the new packaging system does not require heating of the material
New packaging brings increased productivity
New packaging brings increased productivityCurrently, Martens Brewery can process up to 40,000 PET bottles per hour using Nature MultiPacks machines
In addition to using the Nature MultiPack and FreshSafePET machines, the company has also opted for recyclable bottles made from 100% rPET material
