Recently, the Sun Yinshi team of the Institute of Specialty Products of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences published the latest research results of the health care function of ginseng water-soluble dietary fiber in "Food Chemistry" (IF=7.

The team used the compound enzyme method to extract the ginseng dietary fiber (DF) yield from ginseng medicinal residues as high as 70%, and the ratio of soluble dietary fiber (SDF) to insoluble dietary fiber (IDF) was about 1:5

Further studies found that a short-term dietary intervention (15 days) with ginseng SDF could have beneficial effects on rat feed intake, fasting blood glucose and fasting insulin levels, serum cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations

Assistant researcher Hua Mei of the special animal and plant processing team is the first author of the paper, and researcher Sun Yinshi is the corresponding author
