Workers on Zambia's only railway copper export line went on strike
for two weeks over four months' wages owed to them.
On July 17, workers' wages were settled and copper shipments resumed
.
Conrad Simuchile, a spokesman for the Tanzanian Railway Authority, said in a statement that workers agreed to end the strike after the government paid them four months' wages
owed.
The reopening of the line is a relief for Zambian miners, who have not been able to transport copper
through the 1,860-kilometre rail line since the beginning of the month.
