According to data from the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), the global copper market had an oversupply of 17,100 tons from January to July 2018, compared with a shortage of about 48,300 tons in the same period last year, indicating a widening surplus, as global refined copper production grew faster than demand
from January to July.
