Recently, Volkswagen Group announced that it has injected $100 million into California startup QuantumScape for the development and mass production of solid-state batteries, which is expected to accelerate the range of new Golf models

It is reported that QuantumScape has more than 200 technical patents
on solid-state batteries.
In this round of funding, Volkswagen will send an executive to serve on the board of QuantumScape, which plans to develop and have mass-produced solid-state batteries
by 2025.
