The Virginia Fire Department has announced a ban on the use of OSB boards containing polymethylene diphenyl diisocyanate (polymeric MDI) in on-site fire training

In a statement, Virginia Fire Department executive director Michael Reilly said: "During critical training like this, we will take aggressive cancer prevention measures
.
The Virginia Fire Department said the change was supported by Gov.
Ralph Northam, the Virginia Fire Department, Virginia Professional Firefighters and the Virginia Firefighters Association
.
"The Fire Department has explored several ways to reduce risk and injury to our field personnel," Virginia Fire Department President Walt Bailey said in a statement.
"It
makes more sense to develop policy and involve local and state officials
