Vietnam VinFast Trading and Production Co.

has signed two contracts with Siemens Vietnam, a subsidiary of Siemens, to supply technology and components for electric buses in Vietnam

VinFast, a subsidiary of Vingroup, Vietnam's largest private conglomerate, said the deal will enable the company to launch its first electric bus
by the end of 2019.
"Electric buses are an important part of
sustainable urban public transport systems.
" Pham Thai Lai, president and CEO of Siemens Vietnam, said
in the statement.
VinFast will also produce electric motorcycles, electric vehicles and gasoline vehicles
at its $1.
5 billion plant in Hai Phong city.
In June, GM agreed to transfer its Vietnam operations to VinFast, which will also exclusively distribute GM's Chevrolet vehicles in Vietnam
