Australia-based Palisade announced that it has signed a 112 MW turnkey order with Vestas for the Granville Harbour wind farm
in Tasmania, Australia.
Vestas has developed a Palisade solution that can be customised to Tasmania's excellent wind conditions and will provide low-cost renewable energy to power
more than 46,000 local homes.
The project supports Tasmania's ambitious goal of self-sufficiency through renewable energy and Tasmania's position in the national electricity market as a major source of
renewable energy for mainland Australia.
Leveraging Vestas' extensive experience in more than 100 turnkey projects worldwide, the order includes civil and power engineering, supply and commissioning of 31 V126-3.
6 MW turbines and a 25-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement
.
With a 137-metre tower, the project will host Tasmania's tallest turbines, which will maximise annual energy production, reduce energy costs and provide the best business case
for Palisade.
Palisade's Managing Director and CEO said, "Vestas is a trusted partner with a proven track record
in the market.
They provide the best products for the project and provide service solutions
at competitive energy costs.
”
"Our local experience and extensive project and product expertise were key
to securing this order," said the President, Vestas Asia Pacific.
Together with Palisade, we found the perfect solution for the Granville Harbour project, Vestas' fifth project in Tasmania
.
The project highlights Vestas as the state's leading renewable energy enterprise, supporting the government's ambitious goal of making Tasmania self-sufficient
in renewable energy by 2022.
”
The 25-year AOM 5000 Service Agreement is a full-service package that maximizes energy production
throughout the life of the project.
With a benefit-based availability guarantee, Vestas will provide customers with
long-term business case certainty.
Commercial operations of the project are scheduled to begin
in the fourth quarter of 2019.
