Recently, the "Urumqi Transportation Development White Paper (2014)" proposed that Urumqi will accelerate the renewal of public transport vehicles, and in the next ten years, Urumqi aims to achieve more than
80% of new energy buses.
It is understood that at the end of 2015, Urumqi will have 114 gas-electric hybrid new energy buses put into operation, each vehicle is expected to save 20%-30% energy compared with the current natural gas conventional buses, which is the first large-scale introduction of new energy buses
in Urumqi.
Among the new energy buses, 35 new buses were purchased by Urumqi Public Transport Group, 50 new purchases by Jumbo Bus and 29 new buses purchased by Urban Bus Rapid Transit Operation Co.
, Ltd.
, of which conventional buses are 10-meter long buses and BRT rapid buses are 12-meter long buses, but the specific route
has not yet been determined.
Yu Xin, director of the transportation management department of the Urumqi Municipal Transportation Bureau, said that these new energy vehicles adopt gas-electric hybrids, and can switch from electricity to natural gas
in the event of bad weather or emergencies.
In terms of cost, a conventional natural gas bus consumes more than 35 cubic meters of natural gas per 100 kilometers, and the cost is more than 130 yuan
.
According to the minimum saving of 20%, a new energy bus saves nearly 30 yuan
in cost compared with a conventional natural gas bus per 100 kilometers.
