On August 29, 2022, Japan's Kansai Electric Power Company issued a statement saying that Unit 3 of the Mihama nuclear power plant was scheduled to restart on August 30, reached critical level the next day, and reconnected to the grid
on September 1.
The company did not disclose a timeline
for the unit to resume full power operation.

Kansai Electric Power had planned to restart the unit on August 12, 2022, but this was delayed
due to abnormal sealing water in the main coolant pump.
The unit has been out of service since October 23, 2021 to carry out material change overhaul and auxiliary control center construction
