● Plastic bottles can be produced by injection stretch blow molding, extrusion blow molding and injection molding using BASF's polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) product range
● For the production of safe and durable plastic bottles in a variety of designs, shapes and colors
● The finished plastic bottle will be displayed at the BASF booth at CHINAPLAS 2021
BASF has expanded its Ultrason® P product range to produce high-quality plastic bottles using three industry-standard processes
.
Georg Graessel, Global Business Development, Ultrason®, BASF, said: "Producing safe, stylish, high-quality plastic bottles for adults and babies is a challenge that is difficult for conventional PET, PP or copolyester plastic bottles
.
During extrusion blow molding, a plastic melt is extruded from top to bottom through a circular die to form a tubular parison
.
With injection moulding, the body can be produced with or without a cap thread and base, allowing great flexibility in the design and venting method of the baby bottle
.
Injection stretch blow molding is the most widely used manufacturing process, especially for the production of baby bottles in Asia
.
Both types of Ultrason® P are very easy to process with a properly configured hot runner system without waste loss, making them suitable for injection moulding and injection stretch blow moulding
.
Ultrason® is the trade name for BASF's product line of polyethersulfone (Ultrason® E), polysulfone (Ultrason® S) and polyphenylsulfone (Ultrason® P)
.
