Recently, at a joint meeting between Enviromena Power Systems and the Spanish company TSK, the two sides said that they have acquired 105MW of solar projects
    from Jordan.
It is understood that the project has received funding
from the Abu Dhabi Development Fund (ADFD).

By far the largest Quwereira solar power plant in Jordan costs 550 million dirhams
    .
Located in southern Jordan, the project was created
by Jordanian Prime Minister Hani Fawzi Al-Mulki.

ADFD's Managing Director said, "ADFD's participation in the Quwerira solar power plant project is in line with its active assistance to the Kingdom of Jordan, and the UAE enjoys a time-tested bilateral relationship
    .
By funding several major development projects in Jordan, the fund has ensured a positive impact on the lives of thousands of Jordanians and helped the Jordanian government to meet its socio-economic plans and development goals
    .
In line with its focus on inclusive social and economic development in developing countries, ADFD has embraced renewable energy as a catalyst for growth, prioritizing the provision of clean, reliable and affordable electricity that will increase revenues and enhance energy security
    .

The project involves the installation of 328,320 Jinko solar modules and is expected to produce 227GWh of solar energy every 20 years, enough to light about 50,000 homes
    .
In addition, the project created approximately 1,000 jobs during the construction phase and will provide 30 permanent jobs
    for its operation and maintenance.

The Quwerira plant employs a hybrid tracking and fixed structure that tracks the east-west direction of the sun to maximize energy production during the season and optimize land use
    .
Ideematec offers fixed and tracking structures and Ingeteam inverter stations
    .

It is understood that the Jordanian government aims to use 20% of renewable energy for electricity generation
    by early 2020.

In January, IFC arranged a financing package of up to $188 million for a 200 MW/248 MW DC project
developed by Masdar Abu Dhabi Future Energy, which will soon become Jordan's largest photovoltaic power plant.
