Trinseo and Coexpan announced today that the two companies will validate a recycled polystyrene (PS) production technology for form-fill-seal (FFS) dairy applications

    .

"The dairy FFS packaging market has been using PS because it is technically superior to other alternative polymers, but due to its poorer circularity and recyclability, there has been a growing interest in PS in recent years," the companies said in a joint statement.
Alternative materials have generated strong interest

    .

Coexpan is a division of Grupo Lantero specializing in the production of rigid plastic sheets and thermoformed products for the packaging industry
