Trelleborg has introduced a new FRV material with unique fire-resistant properties that can be used to protect electric vehicle batteries
.
With a face weight of only 1.
2kg/m2, FRV is a thin, flexible material that can be laid, clad or shaped to fit any sized contour or area
.
At temperatures up to 1100°C, FRV retains flame retardancy for up to 90 minutes without burn-through or significant dimensional expansion upon fire, making it an ideal material for enhanced fire risk applications
.
When combined with Trelleborg's FR1500 panels, it creates a lightweight protective solution that fits perfectly into EV battery boxes and enclosures
.
Lightweight and super-flexible FRV material remains flame-retardant at temperatures up to 1100°C
FRV is super lightweight and flexible enough to be shaped to fit any size area, or to be laid or wrapped around difficult-to-form contours
Possible applications for FRV include: battery boxes and enclosures for electric vehicles, fire protection for lithium-ion batteries, firewall panels for aerospace and automotive, engine protection, electronics encapsulation, marine and shipbuilding deck panels, doors and floors, and Fire prevention and control measures,
etc.
Once in place, the FRV requires no ongoing maintenance and is easy to transport and install, making it ideal for new and upgraded applications
