Materials such as thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) and thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) cannot be processed by traditional chemical or physical foaming due to their low melt strength

These microbeads consist of a physical blowing agent encapsulated in a polymer shell that expands substantially under the influence of heat while maintaining its volume when cooled

These blowing agents are used in a wide range of applications, including TPU shoe soles, coatings, underbody coatings, wall coverings, insulating materials, and liquid and solid silicone rubbers (LSR and HTV (high temperature vulcanization))

Tramaco offers a variety of expandable microbeads such as powders (for plastisols) and granular polymer-bound masterbatches (for injection molding applications)
