By partnering with BASF and L&L Products, Toyota Tundra replaced more than 60 stamped and welded steel parts in the seat assembly with just 4 composite parts, resulting in a significant reduction The weight of the second-row seat frame is reduced, and the cost of assembly and scrapping of metal components is reduc.

These production changes enable a 20 percent weight reduction and 20 percent cost savings compared to previous generations of steel seat fram.
