Recently, Malaysian utility Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) announced that it has completed half of the 50 MW solar project on the west coast of Malaysia and signed a 21-year power purchase agreement
with it.
It is understood that the project began construction
in July 2017.
TNB's Vice President of Energy said, "Construction of the 132kV substation and control room is also underway
.
The installation of more than 238,000 solar panels is in full swing and we are confident that this project will achieve its target commercial operation
by November 1, 2018.

The project is being developed by TNB subsidiary TNB Sepang Solar Sdn Bhd (TSS) and covers an area of approximately 98 hectares
.
EPC services are provided
by TNB Engineering Corporation Sdn Bhd.
According to Bursa Malaysia's filing, TNB has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
for a 30 megawatt (AC) project developed by TNB Bukit Selambau Solar.
Located in Kironmuda on Kedah Island, the project is expected to go live
on December 31, 2020.
Another project is the 29.
9MW RE Gebeng (AC) project in Kuantan in Pahang, which will come online
on February 3, 2020.
Both projects were awarded
at the LSS auction held in the first quarter of last year.
The Malaysian Energy Commission (EC) was awarded projects
with an estimated capacity of 563 MW at its second LSS auction last December.
