Recently, the innovation team of Tibet Mineral Exploration and Evaluation of the Institute of Mineral Resources of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences of the China Geological Survey led Chalco and the Tibet Geological Survey Bureau to explore and evaluate China's first 10-million-ton porphyry-shallow low-temperature hydrothermal ore deposit - Tiegronan copper (gold and silver) deposit in Gaize County, Ali Prefecture, Tibet, through the combination of production, education and research, and predicted that the copper prospective resources exceeded 15 million tons
    .

This exploration and evaluation has improved the series of mineralization of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
    .
The exploration model of Tibet porphyry-shallow low-temperature thermal ore deposits was innovated, and the metallogenic subseries of copper, gold, silver, lead-zinc deposits related to the combination of acidic volcanic rock-shallow diagenesis in the Bannu metallogenic belt and the arc-shallow rock-shallow rocks of the early Cretaceous Island arc was established, and the porphyry-highly vulcanized shallow low-temperature hydrothermal deposits were clarified as the main types of deposits, and a new understanding of
the superimposed shallow shallow low-temperature ore body in the middle and deep porphyry ore bodies in the Tiegronan ore deposit was proposed.

The project basically identified the potential of regional resources, and in 2013~2015, the Tiegelunan mining area obtained a total of 10.
98 million tons of copper resources, becoming the largest single 10-million-ton copper deposit in China, and the predicted copper prospective resources of the deposit exceeded 15 million tons, achieving a new breakthrough
in prospecting in the Duolong integrated exploration area.

Tang Juxing, Institute of Mineral Resources, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, said that the discovery and exploration evaluation of the 10-million-ton Tiegelonan deposit ended the history of no super-large porphyry-high sulfide shallow low-temperature hydrothermal copper (gold and silver) deposits in Tibet, and opened up a new direction
    for prospecting.
