On April 6, Sinopec's 1,000-ton polystyrene pilot plant was successfully opened in Maoming Petrochemical Zhanjiang Xinzhongmei Chemical Company

Polystyrene is widely used in household appliances, electronic products, packaging, construction and consumer goods and other fields

In 2019, under the guidance of the science and technology department of the group company, Beihua Institute, together with Shanghai Engineering Company, Maoming Petrochemical, Zhejiang University and East China University of Science and Technology, developed a thousand-ton polystyrene technology, and adopted this technology in Zhanjiang Xinzhongmei Chemical Company.
