by Mohammad Abdullah Abunayyan, chairman of Acwa Power, and Cao Min, president of Shanghai Electric Power Station Group.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, said that this is an important milestone that supports the country's leadership in achieving the UAE 2071 Centenary Goals, UAE Vision 2021 and Dubai Plan 2021 to ensure a bright and happy future

"This marks considerable progress
in our efforts to achieve the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050.
The strategy will supply 75% of Dubai's total electricity generation with clean energy by 2050
.
This will make Dubai a global hub for clean energy and green economy, and cement its global position as the city with the lowest carbon footprint in the world
.

By 2030, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Farm plans to generate 5,000 megawatts of electricity with a total investment of $13.
