Recently, 3 offshore uplift stations and 1 offshore reactive power compensation station of the HornseaOne offshore wind farm in the United Kingdom have been installed, which is also the world's first offshore reactive power compensation station
.
The HornseaOne project, developed by Walsch Energy, is located 120km east of Yorkshire, UK, with a total installed capacity of 1218MW and a total of 174 Siemens SWT-7.
0-154 wind turbines, which is expected to be commissioned in 2020 and will become the world's largest offshore wind farm
.
Due to the long distance offshore and the large transmission loss, after detailed evaluation, Horizon Energy finally adopted the scheme
of 3 offshore rising pressure stations + 1 offshore reactive power compensation station.
The reactive power compensation station is built about 60km offshore, of which the superstructure has a total weight of 2100 tons, using a jacket foundation, and the total weight of the foundation is 1400 tons
.
It is worth mentioning that including the three offshore uplift platforms and the sending out submarine cable, the offshore reactive power compensation platform will also be transferred to the offshore transmission operator (OFTO) for operation and maintenance
after the wind farm is completed and put into operation.
