On March 20, the world's first high-temperature gas-cooled reactor demonstration project pressure vessel was successfully hoisted at Huaneng Shidao Bay Nuclear Power Plant, marking a major breakthrough
in China's high-temperature gas-cooled reactor demonstration project construction and nuclear power equipment manufacturing.
Huaneng Shandong Shidaowan Nuclear Power Plant plans to build a 200,000-kilowatt high-temperature gas-cooled reactor nuclear power unit, which is the first high-temperature gas-cooled reactor demonstration power station with independent intellectual property rights in China, and is also the world's first high-temperature gas-cooled reactor commercial-scale demonstration power station
with the safety characteristics of the fourth-generation nuclear energy system.
The reactor pressure vessel is one of the core components of nuclear power plants and an important barrier
to ensure the safe operation of the reactor.
The pressure vessel lifted this time is about 25 meters high and weighs about 610 tons, which is currently the most difficult, largest and heaviest nuclear power plant pressure vessel
in the world.
