Plastic Suppliers, Inc.
(PSI), a PLA film technology and manufacturing company, announced on May 18 that it has successfully completed the first commercially produced PHA-polyhydroxyalkanoate-household compostable packaging film
.
Although the PHA material is certified, the membrane will be screened for biodegradability and home compostability before being fully certified
.
The new film is made from Danimer Scientific's Nodax PHA and can be used in a wide range of food, beverage, grocery retail, fast food restaurants, stadium food service, and many other consumer packaged goods applications
.
