According to the UN eGovernment Survey 2020, the UAE ranks first in the Gulf, Arab region and Western Asia, seventh in the Global Telecommunications Infrastructure Index TII, and the UAE in second
place in Asia.
In addition, the UAE made significant progress in the report on the global competitiveness indicator of the telecom sector, maintaining first place globally in the Mobile Subscriber Index and rising from second to first
globally in the Mobile Broadband Internet Subscriber Index.
As for the Internet User Index, the UAE rose from 13th to 5th in the world, making a qualitative leap in the Fixed Broadband User Index, from 68th to 29th in the world
.
In the OSI Online Services Index published in the United Nations E-Government Development Index EGDI, the UAE ranks first in the Gulf, Arab and Western Asia regions and eighth
globally.
In this indicator, the UAE ranks fourth
in Asia.
These achievements are attributed to the efforts of the TII executive team led by TRA and UAE mobile operators (Etisalat and du), which has worked over the past few years to improve the country's ranking in the TII sub-indicators, maintaining the UAE as a world leader
in such indicators.
