On July 16, the reporter learned from the construction site of the Hengyi (Brunei) PMB petrochemical 8 million tons/year petrochemical plant project constructed by China National Chemical Engineering Second Chemical Engineering .

According to Bi Jiawei, the first phase of the project is designed to have a crude oil processing capacity of 8 million tons per ye.

Yan Junfeng, manager of the flexible coking sub-project, told reporters: "Compared with the conventional delayed coking coke tower technology, the flexible coking unit, one of the three key units, is designed with Exxon Mobil's technology, which avoids the processing capacity cycle caused by the delayed coking cycle switchi.

"The project won the bid on March 28, 2017, and officially started construction on July 21 of the same ye.

"The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between Hengyi Petrochemical Brunei PMB Project Phase II and the Brunei government was signed on September 15, 2017, and plans to add 14 million tons/year crude oil processing capacity and 5 million tons/year ethylene and 2 million tons /year paraxylene production capaci.
