Recently, the National Steel Standardization Technical Committee and Bekaert Management (Shanghai) Co.
, Ltd.
held a seminar in Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province, announcing the launch of the ISO 17832:2009 "Steel Cord for Radial Tires" international standard revision project, and the establishment of a domestic working group
.
According to the arrangement, the draft standard will be submitted to the International Organization for Standardization for review in late June, and the revised standard will be officially promulgated
in 2018.
More than 140 people from the State Steel Standards Commission, China Rubber Industry Association, China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China Steel Structure Wire Branch, China Metal Products Information Center, China Automotive Research Center, Metallurgical Information Standard Research Institute, Jiangsu Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, Jiangyin Market Supervision Administration and representatives of major domestic tyre, steel cord and related enterprises attended the project launching ceremony
.
In 2015, the National Steel Standards Committee and Bekaert jointly submitted an application to the International Organization for Standardization to jointly revise the ISO international standard
for steel cord.
The project was approved by the ISO Central Secretariat in November 2015, and China undertook this work
as the convener of the project.
This marks that the upstream and downstream enterprises of China's steel cord industry will jointly improve and standardize the global steel cord manufacturing and use standards, which is of great significance
for further improving product grades, especially for promoting the industrial upgrading of the global rubber tire and steel cord industry.
At the project launching ceremony, a domestic working group expert group was established, composed of the project convener, 12 experts from the domestic steel cord industry and downstream tire industry, from the Metallurgical Industry Information Standards Research Institute, Bekaert Management (Shanghai) Co.
, Ltd.
, China Rubber Industry Association, Jiangsu Xingda, Shandong Shengtong, Koryo Steel, Zhongce Rubber Group and Triangle Group
.
Ren Cuiying, Secretary-General of International Standards of the National Steel Standards Committee and convener of the expert group, presided over the first seminar
on the revision of the ISO 17832 "Steel Cord for Radial Tires" international standard.
The members of the expert group listened to the report and summary of the previous work and the next work plan
by Shen Yuanmei, expert and secretary of the expert group and quality manager of Bekaert Asia R&D Center.
The experts carefully discussed and studied the revised draft of the standard, and further improved the next work tasks
