Dongying Crude Oil Depot Relocation Project.
The new site of Dongying Crude Oil Depot of Shengli Oilfield is located in Niuzhuang Town, Dongying District, Dongying City, 12.

The new reservoir capacity is 680,000 cubic meters, an increase of 31% over the previous one, and the total land area of the reservoir area is 542 mu
.
As the largest crude oil reserve and crude oil distribution center of Shengli Oilfield, Dongying Crude Oil Depot has been in use since the 80s of the 20th century, and is responsible for 70% of the crude oil transmission and marketing tasks
of Shengli Oilfield.
With the development of the city, the Dongying crude oil depot, which was originally built in the wilderness, is gradually surrounded by residential areas, factories and mines, involving 9 residential communities around it, with more than 56,000 permanent residents, and the contradiction between oil depot safety production and urban development planning has become increasingly prominent
.
In April 2020, the State Council Work Safety Committee issued the National Three-Year Action Plan for Special Rectification of Work Safety, which clearly requires the continuous promotion of the relocation and transformation
of hazardous chemical production enterprises in densely populated urban areas.
Dongying City and Shengli Oilfield included the relocation of Dongying crude oil depot in the "14th Five-Year Plan", and finally decided to move the new reservoir to Niuzhuang Town, Dongying District, the third, fourth and fifth brigades of the geophysical prospecting company to which Shengli Oilfield belonged, and the new depot site is outside the Dongying urban development boundary, which is in line with the urban development plan
of Dongying City.
In the new plan, the 200-kilometer pipeline will also be moved out of populated areas and ecological reserves
.
It is understood that the new crude oil depot is planned to be completed by the end of next year, and after completion, it will become a carbon-neutral oil depot
integrating "safety, green, low-carbon and intelligent".
