In order to give full play to the institutional advantages of concentrating on major things and explore new models for tackling key core technologies, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology organized and carried out the pilot work of the construction of innovation consortiums in Jiangsu Province, and a total of 10 innovation consortiums were shortlisted

The first batch of construction pilot work was carried out in accordance with the principle of "national strategic deployment, Jiangsu's most advantageous, solid cooperation foundation, and clear key tasks", aiming at the international scientific and technological frontier and major national strategic needs, mainly focusing on the layout and construction of strategic emerging industries such as integrated circuits and new materials, leading the construction of innovative leading enterprises such as Farsheng and Zhongfu Shenying, as well as leading and backbone enterprises in the industry such as Huajin Semiconductor and Sudaweig, with a total of 136 upstream and downstream innovation subjects in the industrial chain.
It has built 154 major innovation platforms at or above the provincial level, and has undertaken 152 science and technology projects at or above the provincial level, showing a strong innovation resource agglomeration effect

In the next step, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology will actively explore the establishment of a continuous support mechanism for innovation consortiums, support major science and technology projects for innovation consortiums with good R&D foundation and rich technical reserves, and strive to solve the major bottlenecks restricting the current industrial development, accelerate the creation of new advantages in the development of key industries in our province, and seize the commanding heights
