    According to foreign media news, the submarine communication cable system connecting the Greek city of Attica and Heraklion, Crete, has started installation works

    According to reports, the system is part of the Attica-Crete high-voltage DC interconnection system, with a total investment of up to 1 billion euros, and is expected to be completed and put into production

    Italian cable manufacturer Prysmann was awarded a supply contract in 2020 totalling €270 million for the project, which includes €250 million for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of a high-voltage DC cable system, and €20 million for the laying of submarine communication cables, covering a total length of 670 km
