According to Huawei Marine, the PEACE submarine cable system project connecting Asia, Africa and Europe has entered the cable and material manufacturing stage, and Chinese cable manufacturer Hengtong Group is responsible for production
.
PEACE is a 12,000-kilometer-long submarine cable system built by Huawei Marine connecting Pakistan, Djibouti, Kenya, Egypt, and France
.
The project also plans to expand
further south through South Africa in the second phase.
French telecommunications companies ORANGE and PCCW will support
the landing of the submarine cable in France.
According to reports, the system design will use the latest 200Gbps and WSS technology, providing the ability to transmit more than 16 Tbps per fiber pair to meet the growing regional capacity demand
.
Once completed, it will provide the shortest connection path from China to Europe and Africa, greatly reducing latency and providing a new information superhighway
for interconnection between regions.
According to the plan, the submarine cable system will be ready for production
in the first quarter of 2020.
