Recently, the government of Australia's Northern Territory approved the development of a 25 MW solar project near Catherine, jointly developed by Epuron and Island Green Power
.
The project supports the government's recently announced electricity market reforms to provide lower costs and reliable electricity and reach the government's target
of 50% renewable energy by 2030.
The Northern Territory government has also agreed to a long-term power purchase agreement
for the project, government-owned electricity retailer Jacana Energy.
The PPA between Jacana Energy and Katherine Solar will be able to build a $40 million project, create more than 100 jobs during construction and become the largest renewable energy generator leader
in the Northern Territory.
