The Degradable and Recyclable Center was informed that recently, the 2021 National Key Research and Development Program "Advanced Structure and Composite Materials" key project "Low-cost high-performance bio-based polyester and polycarbonate" led by the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The project is led by the bio-based polymer team of Ningbo Institute of Materials, and the project leader is Researcher Zhu Jin.

This project is expected to eventually achieve the global technological leadership of domestic bio-based high-barrier polyesters and the import substitution of high heat-resistant polyesters and polycarbonates, and to form the systematic independent research and development and support capabilities of domestic materials.
