On November 10, 2020, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment approved the "Methanol Fuel Vehicle Unconventional Pollutant Emission Measurement Method" (HJ1137-2020) as the national environmental protection standard and issued it for implementation

The standard stipulates the measurement method of formaldehyde and methanol in the exhaust of light enterprises, heavy engines and automobiles (including diesel/methanol dual-fuel engines and automobiles) that use methanol fuel, and provides a type test for the emission of unconventional pollutants from methanol fuel vehicles.
