sharply.
EU PET imports fell 5%
in June compared to the same period last year.
The price of PET in Europe rose from 1,100 euros/mt in May (FD Europe) to 1,400 euros/mt in June, partly due to a lack
of imports.
In June, the currency exchange rate was not conducive to European buyers buying imported goods, as the dollar rose
against the euro.
During the peak demand for PET in the summer, the reduction in supply stimulated a sharp increase in prices, and the decrease in supply was partly due to a series of upstream production cuts
