Recently, SEA Cable Exchange-1 (SEAX-1), an undersea cable system connecting Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, has been put into trial operation
on May 29 after successfully completing construction and end-to-end testing.
According to reports, the 250-kilometer-long submarine optical cable system connects Malaysia's Mersing, Singapore's Tanah Merah and Indonesia's Batam, and was launched in 2016 and was built by Huawei Marine and Huawei International, and developed by Indonesia's PT Super Sistem Ultima and Malaysia's SACOFA

Joseph Lim, CEO of SEAX, said: "The SEAX-1 service will significantly enhance direct communication between Malaysia and Indonesia and Singapore, and pave the way for SEAX's broader plans.
