On August 2, the completion ceremony
of the SOL de Omura Mijima Photovoltaic Power Station, a large-scale photovoltaic power plant built by Nagasaki Solar Energy United near Nagasaki Airport, was held in the local area.
The power station has an output of about 30 megawatts, covers an area of about 34 hectares, and has about 180,000 photovoltaic panels
.
It is reported that after completion, the annual power generation capacity will reach 37 million kilowatt hours, which is equivalent to the electricity
consumption of 7,500 general households.
The power station sells all the generated electricity to Kyushu Electric Power Company
via an undersea cable of about 10 kilometers.
The total construction cost is approximately JPY 10 billion, the power generation business has a term of 20 years, and annual revenues are expected to be JPY 1,332 million
.
It is reported that 84 relevant personnel attended the completion ceremony
of the "SOL de Omura Mijima Photovoltaic Power Station".
Kenji Araki, president of Super Pro, a co-investor of Nagasaki Photovoltaic Energy Corporation, said, "As global warming continues, environmental energy development is a major mission
of mankind.
It is hoped that the power station will become a symbol
of the future.
Governor Nakamura said, "The completion of the largest photovoltaic power plant in the prefecture will contribute greatly to the development of a low-carbon society, and we look forward to expanding and developing
our business in the future.
