It is an inevitable choice for the internal combustion engine industry to help "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" and further improve thermal efficiency.
What is the relationship between improving the thermal efficiency and reliability of internal combustion engines? In the face of the "dual carbon" goal and the replacement of National VI, what challenges and opportunities will the internal combustion engine industry face? Facing the ever-increasing requirements of environmental protection and energy consumption in the future, where will the internal combustion engine industry with a history of more than 100 years go in the future? Tong Dehui, deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Internal Combustion Engine Reliability, accepted an exclusive interview with a reporter from the Securities Daily to decode and look forward to the future development of the internal combustion engine industry.
Realization of "dual carbon" must be based on reliability technology
In the internal combustion engine industry, Weichai's brand is well-known internationally.
Nowadays, the reliability of Weichai's full range of engine products has become a well-known business card of Weichai.
In 2015, the State Key Laboratory of Internal Combustion Engine Reliability, the only enterprise state key laboratory in my country's internal combustion engine industry, settled in Weichai.
Recalling the scene when he participated in the assessment and defense of the State Key Laboratory, especially when asked "what is the advanced technology of reliability", Tong Dehui still couldn't hide his excitement and said that there are many technologies involving the reliability of internal combustion engines, and the reliability of internal combustion engines should be improved.
Similarly, talking about the most popular "carbon peak and carbon neutrality", for the internal combustion engine industry, Tong Dehui believes that improving the reliability of internal combustion engines and improving thermal efficiency are equally important.
Weichai builds a differentiation strategy with reliability
Tong Dehui told the "Securities Daily" reporter that it is based on the recognition that the reliability of internal combustion engines is as important as improving the thermal efficiency of internal combustion engines, that Weichai has set its own differentiation strategy on reliability.
At Weichai, the expression "customer satisfaction is our aim" has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, but how to make customers satisfied? Tong Dehui said, "It is enough to provide high-reliability and high-quality products.
It is understood that, as the support unit of the State Key Laboratory of Internal Combustion Engine Reliability, Weichai has always regarded reliability as one of the core competitiveness of its products, and strengthened its high attention and continuous investment in basic research and common technology research before competition.
Tong Dehui introduced to a reporter from the Securities Daily that Weichai WP13H engines have entered the market in small batches, and this type of engine is mainly used in heavy tractors.
In combination with the "dual carbon" goal to achieve the requirements for timeliness, Weichai launched a new development platform H series, which is the highest starting point in China.
Regarding the current development trend of the "new four modernizations" (electricity, networking, intelligence, and sharing) in the automotive industry, Tong Dehui believes that for the internal combustion engine industry, I am afraid that everyone will pay more attention to what "electricity" may bring to the internal combustion engine industry.
