At present, the development of the domestic polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) industry has encountered bottlenecks, and it is urgent to standardize guidance, innovation breakthroughs, industrial coordination and policy support to help it embark on the road

In recent years, the scale of PPS localization has been expanding, but industrial development has encountered bottlenecks, including product upgrading, technology replacement, equipment transformation and green environmental protection

At the same time, the PPS industry also has problems such as
resin price inversion, many products but not refined, and the extrusion of foreign PPS products.

In the face of these bottlenecks, the participating experts have made suggestions

Zheng Kai, chairman of the China Synthetic Resin Association, pointed out that the industry should strive to achieve further breakthroughs in PPS special categories and high-end applications, drive the progress of the synthetic resin new material industry, and promote the healthy development of
the industry.

Wu Xian, president of the Special Engineering Plastics Branch of China Synthetic Resin Association, believes that under the current economic situation, the industry should concentrate excellent enterprises and talents, condense R&D, production, application and market forces, and establish a benign industrial ecosystem

Yang Jie, secretary general of the branch and professor at Sichuan University, believes that R&D should be encouraged to share
their advanced non-core technologies for a fee.
He said that the polyarylene sulfide research group of Sichuan University is willing to share common industry technologies with the industry to promote the development of
the PPS industry.

Wang Xiaojun, deputy secretary-general of the branch and professor at Sichuan University, suggested that the national level should continue to increase policy guidance and support to promote the development of the PPS industry; At the industry level, it is necessary to start improving industry standards as soon as possible, establish a price information platform mechanism, strengthen communication, and overcome difficulties together; Enterprises should make efforts in the controllable synthesis section and the recovery of catalysts, solvents and waste salts to solve production problems

In response to the problems existing in the PPS industry, Chen Minjian, vice chairman of the National Plastics Standardization Committee, and Wang Jiandong, secretary general, proposed the establishment of PPS group standards
.
After discussion, the meeting proposed that the Special Engineering Plastics Branch should take the lead of PPS group standards, and enterprises should participate in the preparation of
PPS group standards.
At the same time, the meeting suggested that resin, fiber and modification manufacturers in the PPS industry chain should cooperate and develop in a coordinated manner, and establish a price information platform for the whole PPS industry chain, so that all enterprises in the industrial chain can know and understand the cost of upstream and downstream products; Investigate and improve the current PPS anti-dumping policy; It is hoped that new energy vehicles and other industries will formulate relevant access certifications to give domestic PPS more opportunities
in high-end applications.
