    The Indian state of Orissa plans to increase solar projects

    Recently, the southern Indian state of Odisha plans to add 270 megawatts of solar projects
    by September this year.

    Essel Green Energy, a subsidiary of Subhash Chandra's Essel Group, is expected to bid to solar companies in India by June, winning 120 megawatts
    of the 240-megawatt solar project, an official said.

    The official added that the 120 MW project is expected to be commissioned in September this year

    Private sector Gridco has also purchased 138MW of solar to meet its needs, including 63 MW of projects
    installed in the state.

    After Gridco invited bids to select a 200 MW grid-connected solar power project, the solar giant patiently waited to launch a solar project
    in Orissa.

    Companies such as Acme, ReNew Power, Tata Power, IBCSolar, Sahara Power and Adani Green Energy have shown interest
    in these projects.
    The project will be developed in a non-solar park mode, with the opportunity to distribute the land to bidders, pay a minimum tariff during the bidding process, and then conduct an electronic auction

    Gridco will enter into a power purchase agreement
    with the winning bidder for a period of 25 years from the date of commencement of commercial operations.
