According to the Economic Times, the government of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh has allocated the 780MW Jangi-Thopan-Powari hydropower project in Kinnaur district on the basis of construction, ownership, operation and transfer to SJVN Ltd.
for a period of 70 years

The Chairman and Managing Director of SJVN assured the Company that the Company will complete the project on time and will make a significant contribution
to the overall development of the affected areas of the project.
According to him, SJVN has the necessary infrastructure and currently has an installed capacity of 2,003.

SJVN is also implementing various projects, which are in various stages of development, which will add 4,018MW of capacity
upon completion, he said.
Projects with a potential generating capacity of 1,572MW are under construction, with 1,848MW of pre-built and investment approved power and 598MW
of power in the survey phase.
SJVN had earlier implemented the 1,500MW Nathpa Jhakri hydroelectric power station
in Himachal Pradesh.
It has also implemented hydropower projects
in Nepal, Bhutan and Uttarakhand.
