Navigant Research, a US market research institution, recently released a report that the global microgrid market will reach $30.
9 billion by 2027.
The newly released report examines the current status and potential future growth of microgrid segments and business models, providing a global market forecast
for capacity and implementation spending by segment and region to 2027.
Over the past decade, Navigant Research has tracked major microgrid markets
around the world as the number of vendors offering products and services has increased.
"Since the second quarter of 2017, global microgrid project capacity has been ramped up, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, where 10,204.
5 MW
has been developed.
It is followed by North America with 7,779.
4 MW, but the region has twice the number of microgrid projects in the Asia-Pacific region at 1,105.
”
As of the second quarter of 2018, the number of tracked microgrid projects worldwide reached 2,134, with a cumulative capacity of 24.
98 GW, including the proposed microgrid capacity under development and 239 new projects, with a cumulative increase of 959.
7 MW.
"Microgrid deployments in commercial and industrial are expected to grow fastest due to the falling cost of key microgrid technologies and the emergence of new business models," said Peter Asmus, Head of Research at Navigant, "While North America has been the leader in this market regionally over the past few years, Asia Pacific has maintained and enhanced its leadership throughout the 10-year forecast period
