On April 28, the foundation stone was laid for the expansion project of Sinopec and BASF's integrated production base in Nanjing.
The expansion and new facilities will be put into operation by the end of 2023

The Yangzi Petrochemical-BASF integrated base is operated by the joint venture company Yangzi Petrochemical-BASF Co.

The expansion project includes a new set of tert-butyl acrylate (TBA) plant and the expansion of several downstream chemical plants.
After the project is completed, it will meet the growing Chinese market demand

The two parties will expand the production capacity of propionic acid (PA), propionaldehyde (PALD), vinylamine (EEA), ethanolamine (EOA) and refined ethylene oxide (PEO) at the site and build a new tert-butyl acrylate (TBA) unit

The TBA unit will use the acrylic acid and isobutylene of the integrated base as raw materials to extend downstream.
This is the first time this production process has been applied outside of Germany
