In order to alleviate the "oil and gas shortage" caused by India's informal embargo, Nepal turned to China for help and signed an agreement
with China to import petroleum products.
A few days ago, Nepal said that Nepal had received the first batch of gasoline
aided by China on the evening of October 31.
Nepal's Kathmandu Post reported on November 1 that Nepal Oil Company sent 12 fuel tankers to the Nepal-China border on October 30 to prepare to receive gasoline
from China.
Due to some technical problems, the Chinese side initially only allowed 3 tanker trucks to enter the Chinese port of Jilong
.
According to reports, due to snow in Kerung, the three tankers delayed their return time for a while, and finally returned to Nepal on the evening of October 31, and may arrive in Kathmandu
on the 1st.
In addition, nine other fuel tankers also entered China through the Jilong port on the 1st, preparing to bring back more gasoline
aided by the Chinese side.
Nepal Oil Corporation spokesman Tipak said that China has provided a total of 1,000 tons of gasoline assistance to Nepal, and Nepal will bring back the remaining gasoline
within a week.
The Kathmandu Post said Nepal has been completely dependent on gasoline imports from India for the past 40 years, and this is the first time
gasoline has been shipped back from China.
