Recently, the first demonstration device of CCUS technology of chemical chain mineralization in China, the research and demonstration project of carbon dioxide capture and utilization technology of thermal power plant based on chemical chain mineralization of Guodian Electric Power Datong Company, a national energy group, entered the system linkage debugging, and produced finished calcium carbonate slurry
.
The project adopts high-efficiency mineralization capture utilization and storage and long-term stable carbon sequestration technology, uses ammonium chloride solution to dissolve calcium in industrial waste calcium carbide slag, and then absorbs carbon dioxide in flue gas, and obtains green calcium carbonate with economic value and desulfurization calcium carbonate slurry from power plants through precipitation, filtration, purification, filtration, drying and other steps, which directly realizes carbon dioxide capture, long-term stable storage and industrial utilization of thermal power plants, and solves the problem that traditional mineralization technology has poor economy and cannot be applied on a large scale.

After the completion of the project, it can process 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year, 818 standard cubic meters of flue gas per hour, consume 3,000 tons of calcium carbide slag per year, and produce 2,300 tons of finished calcium carbonate per year, which has the advantages
of high decarbonization efficiency, easy availability of raw materials, long-term stable carbon sequestration, easy industrial amplification and good economy.
