.
According to reports, the Fibra Optica Austral (FOA) project, with a total investment of $90 million, is an important optical fiber infrastructure project developed by the Chilean Ministry of Transport and Communications, aiming to deploy nearly 4,000 kilometers of optical fiber network systems
in the southern region of Patagonia.
The FOA system will also connect Montana and Port Williams, landing in Caleta Tortel and Punta Arenas, and CTR, a company in partnership with Huawei Marine, won one of
three projects on the submarine cable section and land.
The remaining two land projects, linking Aysen and Los Lagos, were awarded to Silica Networks in early May and are scheduled to be completed
within 18 months.
