According to the person in charge of Xi’an Thermal Power Research Institute, the unit has an operating power of 5 MW and the largest capacity in the world.
Compared with the traditional thermal power unit, this unit uses supercritical carbon dioxide instead of steam to rotate the steam turbine generator, and the carbon dioxide is used cyclically.
The unit is located in Yanliang District, Xi'an, covering an area of more than 6000 square meters.
It is reported that the use of supercritical carbon dioxide as a power generation medium is an important and transformative technology in the forefront of the world
