Recently, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced that the Lufeng Oilfield Group regional development project located in the eastern waters of the South China Sea has been successfully put into operation

The regional development project of Lufeng Oilfield Group includes the development of 4 oilfields.

According to Wu Yiming, general manager of the operation area of Lufeng Oilfield, Lufeng 14-4 oilfield is a deep complex fault block low-permeability oil field.

It is reported that the Lufeng 14-4 platform is an offshore crude oil production platform with the largest weight and the highest equipment localization rate independently designed and constructed in China

The Eastern South China Sea Oilfield, where the Lufeng Oilfield Group Regional Development Project is located, is China’s second largest offshore energy production base.

In recent years, oil fields in the eastern South China Sea have expanded their exploration into the deep Paleogene, and several medium-sized oil and gas fields such as Lufeng 14-4 and Huizhou 26-6 have been discovered successively, with proven geological reserves of more than 100 million tons, most of which are low-permeability oil and gas fields
