The first hydropower investment project in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the Far East Cable Railway!

The Karot Hydropower Station is located at the dam site upstream of the Karot Bridge in Punjab Province, Pakistan, 74km below the Mangla Dam and about 55km away from Islamabad in the west.

With a total installed capacity of 720,000 kilowatts and a total investment of US$1.
74 billion, the project is the first hydropower investment project in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the first hydropower investment project
written into the joint statement of the Chinese and Pakistani governments.

In April 2015, the project broke ground in the presence of Chinese and
