On 3 February 2022, the European Union published Regulation (EU) 2022/146 to determine whether products containing alkyl (C12-16) dimethylbenzyl ammonium chlorides are biocidal products
.
It was concluded that the product contains the active substance alkyl(C12-16)dimethylbenzylammonium chloride at a concentration of 2.
4% and, according to the information provided by the manufacturer or distributor, is intended for use against algae in compliance with regulations ( Biocidal products within the meaning of point 3(1)(a) of EU) No 528/2012 shall fall into category 2 products as defined in Annex V of this Regulation
