According to recent news from the European Commission (EU), it is planned to complete the revision of the EU 10/2011 regulations on food contact plastics by the end of 2022
.
It has been more than two years since the last revision.
This revision will be the 16th revision to the regulation.
The main revisions involve the following aspects:

● Clarification that the regulation only applies to the production of plastic materials that do not contain recycled content;

● Introducing purity requirements and restrictions on offcuts and waste; in addition, rules on quality control and disposal of offcuts and waste have been added to Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006 on Good Manufacturing Practices for Food Contact Materials;

● Adjust the migration test rules for multilayer composites;

● Clarify the relevant regulations for natural materials
